What is the Virtual Law Clinic?
This is a service delivered through a partnership between Avon and Bristol Law Centre and Citizens Advice South Somerset and North Somerset.
Free legal advice is available through a pre-arranged Skype interview with a solicitor on duty at the Law Centre.
The legal advice is limited to family and employment law and might be relevant to you if you have advice needs in relation to:
Family Law
- Child Arrangements
- Divorce Settlements
- Disagreement with Assets
- Housing Rights
- Violence in the Family Home
Employment Law
- Discrimination at work
- Unfair or unlawful dismissal
- Other problems at work
The Legal Advice
The advice is limited to a 30 minute session and offered where Citizens Advice have assessed that the issue you have is suitable for referral to the legal advice session.
How To Prepare
Appointments in Yeovil are available between 5.30pm and 7.00pm on Tuesday evenings for clients that are registered with Citizens Advice South Somerset.
Citizens Advice set up the skype call and are on hand before, during and following the call to provide further support and information. Documents can be shared via a virtual data room. This is a secure online platform that enables Citizens Advice to upload our clients’ documents in advance of the session where these will be required by the solicitor.
How do I make an Appointment?
To register for an appointment please complete our email advice pathway. This will enable us to assess your issues, deliver first stage advice and determine whether specialist support via the solicitor is appropriate in your case. If you are referred for a legal advice session we will collect relevant documents from you beforehand and ensure that they are available to the lawyer during your session.
